So, I've been working on this ribbed scarf today and it's actually pretty fun and addictive. Especially since I purposefully bought some chunky as yarn and large needles so that my scarf would "grow" quickly. Knitting is so easy, as there are just two basic types of stitches (knit & purl) and with different variations in yarn, needle size and stitch combinations, you can create so many different designs! This scarf is a ribbed scarf made up of a knit 2 purl 2 stitch combination. Listen to my geek knitting talk. Anyways, can't wait to finish it and maybe move onto knitting something else or even just another scarf. You can never have enough scarves right?

Autumn Knits
James and I took these shots for La Mode Outré and StyleSophomore when we were up in Seoul at the start of September. They were just transitioning into Fall at the time and there were a lot of knits around, worn as under layers, outwear or just on their own. For as long as we've been in Singapore, I've never even thought about wearing or buying knits of any sort. Knitted jumpers, cardigans, sweaters, dresses, I've had no real need for them as fortunately I'm not stuck in a freezing cold air-conditioned office all day and I wouldn't even set a foot outside in even the thinnest knitwear. But, we are moving to Taipei right in the middle of Autumn where temperatures will get down cool enough to wrap up in cosy knits and scarves. I really can't wait to wear knitted jumpers again and mix and match them with jeans and pants that I've missed wearing so much. Ahhhh I'm so excited! 12 more days to go!

Gap 1969
I always get pretty excited when I'm shopping for a pair of pants or jeans and I find a pair that actually fits me! So, when I found these Always Skinny jeans from the Gap 1969 collection, I was super happy to come away with two pairs. I'll still have to hem up the bottoms but a nice fit around the bum and hips is good enough for me! They're just the type of jeans that I want and need for my body shape as they're skinny through the hip and thigh area. And they're a lightweight, soft denim so will be perfect for the weather in Taipei. Can't wait to wear them!

Simple Salad
My favourite go-to meal whenever I need to cook up something quick or when I don't know what to cook for lunch or dinner. It's a warmed penne pasta salad with tuna, smoked ham, cucumber, tomatoes, mayo, a drizzle of sunflower oil, and salt & pepper to taste. It's so quick and easy to put together and kind of healthy-ish too. I'm pretty sure I could eat this everyday!

Outfit | Black & All Blacks!
I've always loved the whole dresses with converse look, it's such an easy and comfortable style. Wore this out yesterday while we went into town to do a bit of shopping and watch the quarter final matches of the Rugby World Cup. We caught the last of the first game between South Africa and Australia which I was both happy and gutted with the result - I don't like to see Australia win when it comes to any sport, but on the other hand, the rivalry that comes with a NZ vs Australia match-up is always exciting. Then we watched the All Blacks game which I found hard to get into. It seemed like the All Blacks put in a pretty average performance against Argentina but were always still going to win it. We left at about 75 minutes and I still don't think that I've watched a full game of rugby union yet. In saying that though, the game has seemed to change and is not the tedious kicking game that I remember it to be, so who knows? I think it's going to take quite a bit to convert me from a league to a rugby fan. For me, rugby just doesn't have the same pulsating intensity, stress, frustration and excitement that I like in the game of league when the Warriors take the field. Ok enough sports talk, here's what I wore. Self-made jersey dress, Comme Ca Ism scarf from Tokyo, leather bag from Taipei and Converse shoes.

A Night of Harajuku Street Style
Went to the Harajuku Street Style launch party on Friday night at Tangs Orchard where James was a "special guest" along with Rei Shito from Style from Tokyo. It was a great night, met lots of new people, got some cool photos, saw lots of familiar faces and it was really good to see our friends from Japan again! And not to mention the endless supply of sushi, sweets and the cutest little 135ml cans of Asahi all night!
The Harajuku pop up store is back for it's second year and houses 14 different Japanese brands spread over two levels. Brands include Ciaopanic, CRYSTAL BALL, DAMMY, mystic, Ray Cassin and WEGO, as well as BEAUTY&YOUTH UNITED ARROWS, coen, Dip Drops, KBF, rosebullet, Osewaya and URBAN RESEARCH. Some shots I took of around the shop before they let the crowd in!
