Taipei In Converse

After being in Taipei for two days now, one thing we have noticed while walking around is that almost every other person is wearing converse. All Stars, lo-tops, hi-tops, canvas, leather, plastic, patterns, sequins... I've just been amazed at how popular they are here! So, I thought it just seemed right to buy a couple of pairs for myself. I just can't wait to wear them in a bit cos at the moment they're looking a bit too clean and new and chunky!

Cats Socrates

I went down to Cat Socrates this week to check out James' mini wall feature that he has going on this month for La Mode Outre. It's really cool to see all the photos together like this and I like how it's been set up - just the little things like the odd coloured pegs thrown in amongst the wooden, the fact that the photos aren't all hanging dead straight and how each photo is as if someone has just taken a quick snap shot and hung it up on the line.

Also took a few shots from around the shop. This is a really cool place and I'm surprised that I had never discovered it before. It's jam packed with everything you can imagine including books, CDs, notepads, homeware, bags, vintage cameras, jewellery and lots of odd bits and pieces. You could easily spend quite a bit of time in there!

If you haven't been there, go down and check it all out on the third level of Bras Basah Complex! The exhibition is on until 30th June. 

Denim, Leather, Lace

I love this look! It's sounds like an unlikely combination but the delicate mix of textures in denim, leather and lace looks and works amazing. My liking for light-wash denim continues and when mixed with leather and lace, it's perfect!

Lazy Afternoon

Took these shots the other day while sitting outside Starbucks at One Fullerton, Marina Bay. And on my way down the hill, I finally managed to get a shot of one of the lizards sitting along the fence outside our apartment building. They are always out there just chillin and soaking up the sun. Ahhhh what a life! 

Hats Everywhere

Personally, I'm not very partial toward hats but I think that's because I've never really worn them before. Not sure why I've never been a hat person, I guess in recent times I've had short hair so have never considered it. But before that, even when I had longish hair, I never considered it either. Who knows?

Anyway, as much as the Singapore sun calls for wearing a hat, I don't see myself wearing one soon. I think I need to let my hair grow long first. So for now, I will just embrace the hats that others are wearing and the hats that really compliment and complete the outfit without being too overpowering.
